LNG carriers are smaller than the oil tankers currently unloaded at Antifer.

Largest VLCC(*) unloaded at Antifer : 380 x 68 x 24,5 m (**), 440 000 tons - Standard VLCC : 333 x 58 x 22,3 m, 305 000 tons

Largest existing LNG carrier : 340 x 54 x 12,2 m, 130 000 tons - Standard LNG carrier : 290 x 49 x 11,4 m, 72 000 tons

The main features of the terminal are as follows

Capacity: 7 million tonnes LNG per year, that is, 9 billion m3 of natural gas

Three full containment storage tanks with total capacity of 170,000 m3 – the safest technology available

The outer concrete wall of the tanks measures around 85 m in diameter and the height from the ground on which the tank is sited to the summit of the roof dome is 52 m.

Can accommodate the largest QatarMax LNG carriers with their 270,000 m3 capacity (130,000 tonnes)
